Kabbalistic Tools: Tikkun HaNefesh, Kabbalah

This tool, Tikkun HaNefesh, literally translated, the correction of the soul, is designed to restore the peace and harmony of all the organs that are ravaged as a result of a breach in the Surrounding Light. What is the cause of the breach? It is your attitude, your behavior, your actions. Any ego driven action or sentiment wreaks havoc with the sensitive surrounding light.
You get angry… a breach. You get jealous… a breach. You get opinionated or judgmental… a breach.
This tool corrects that. It takes about 100 seconds and you should be doing it twice a day.

What is MY Tikkun?

As I said in my last blogpost, my 72-name is “Forget Thyself.”

In my “Your Soul’s Purpose” process it was worded this way “Bring The Divine to Everything.”

Two different wordings, neither of them made a difference, until today.

If a question is unanswerable, you want to know Continue reading “What is MY Tikkun?”

One Who Sees the Light and the Shadows

” … pessimists are usually right, optimists are usually wrong, but most great changes were made by optimists.” — Thomas Friedman, New York Times, May 11, 2008

Ever felt like the mission of Kabbalah is too big? Like what we do may not make a difference. The environment is too far gone, people’s natures are too difficult to change, who are we kidding?

…Being an optimist is like telling the Creator “I believe in you. I don’t know how you are going to make it work, or when, but I know you can and will!”

I have several mastermind partners. One of them, Mike, is a book distributor. He has lofty ideals, Continue reading “No We Can’t Change The World, Yes We Can”

Who am I and what gives me the right to write about Kabbalah

kabbalahchick is Sophie Benshitta, aka Maven SophieGood question, right? You were just about asking that… Gotcha!

OK, simple question, simple answer.

First I tell you what I am not:

  • I am not a Kabbalist. Kabbalists study, practice, and teach Kabbalah full time, for many many years. It could be even said that being a Kabbalist is like an insider… you need to be appointed.
  • I am not a teacher of Kabbalah
  • I am not a guru
  • I am not someone who knows a lot about Kabbalah but doesn’t live it.

OK, then what am I? Continue reading “Who am I and what gives me the right to write about Kabbalah”
